Spanish

¡Hola! I am a California native, born and raised in Northridge. Before becoming a teacher, I studied art and photography at Pitzer College in Claremont. I worked as a professional photographer for a sale site before deciding to change careers and pursue a more rewarding career path. In this transition, I lived in Madrid in 2015-16 on a Fulbright scholarship as an English Assistant and Global Classrooms Model UN teacher. When I came back to the US in 2016, my passion for Spanish and teaching was confirmed. I then pursued a teaching credential from CSUN and worked for New West Charter HS as the Spanish 1 teacher from 2019-2022.

My itch for living in a Spanish-speaking country was still not scratched! In 2022, I moved to Valencia, Spain for a masters in Advanced Hispanic Studies Research (Spanish Linguistics) at the University of Valencia. After 2 years abroad, I’m happy to be back teaching at New West with more passion than ever for this beautiful language. I could not be more excited for what this new school year has to offer.
